Norris Leads Oscar Piastri in Sao Paulo Practice Session
The British driver has beaten his teammate at each of the past five grands prix.
Lando Norris narrowly beat team-mate and title rival the Australian for the top spot in the final moments of practice at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix.
The British racer, who took the title advantage from Piastri by a single point after winning in Mexico City recently, beat the Melbourne-born driver by 0.023 seconds.
Until that point, Oscar Piastri had been the quickest of the McLaren pair for most of the session before the sprint shootout scheduled for 18:30 GMT.
Max Verstappen, the only other driver in the points battle, trailing 36 points behind behind Norris, ended up in 17th place as his team ran a alternative strategy.
Verstappen's team-mate the Japanese driver was the only driver to have an incident, though minor, when he lost control at the fourth corner soon after starting.
Tsunoda lost control over the exit kerbs before sliding over the gravel trap, and was blessed to escape with just a light touch of the barrier.
The Ferrari of the seven-time champion also lost it, at the conclusion of the session, spinning around through the high-speed corner before the final corner on to the start-finish straight.
The veteran finished practice in 19th place, just behind team-mate Charles Leclerc.
The McLaren drivers were significantly quicker of the other competitors, with Nico Hulkenberg's Sauber P3, over half a second slower than the Australian's time.
Aston Martin's the Spanish driver was fourth quickest, with the Sauber of Bortoleto fifth from Mercedes' George Russell and the Alpine of Pierre Gasly and the Williams of Sainz.
