Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 championships have been earned on hardcourt
A revitalized Daniil Medvedev won his first championship for 882 days with success over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament championship match.
The Russian, a former top-ranked player, has had a difficult period, winning just one win at the big events and undergoing a difficult moment at the American major.
The player's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and issues with his serving in especial - caused him dropping out of the world's top 10 and ultimately separating with former coach his previous coach.
Currently training with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, he has gradually improved in the past month - peaking in a closely contested competitive victory over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.
This represents his initial title after the Rome competition and initial on a hardcourt since March of 2023.
Success also signifies Medvedev has secured 21 victories at 21 different competitions.
"For the first time I am participating in a event with my two daughters simultaneously, so to secure a championship is really nice," said tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.
"This championship is in dedication of my younger daughter my daughter, because the first title I got when my child my daughter was born was for her."
Medvedev, the former major winner, had failed in his past six title deciders, including in Halle in the past months.
The player's counter-punching play style and frequent emotional displays on court had led some to doubt if his capacity to perform at the highest level was concluded.
But the player has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, making an effort to approach the net and compete aggressively, backed up by an enhanced serving game.
The champion came back from a break down in the opening set against the difficult Frenchman, securing four of the last five exchanges to go ahead.
The pair swapped break points in the following set before the Frenchman, bidding for his first ATP Tour championship, seized the initiative to create a third set.
The opponent saved four early-game chances in a close third set before the champion secured a break to 15 to serve for the match.
Fittingly, the winner clinched the win with a shot at the net, with Moutet unable to handle a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
